I was told this story about Earhart from the Charmorros on the island several times. I totally dismissed it then. I have my doubts now, however, as who would have believed that a Japanese soldier from WWII was hiding on the island while I was there. We hiked the areas where he was hidden and no doubt observed us from concealment. I'm curious and plan to keep abreast of what you discover.
